Boy and Bear

P
On the last show on their Sold Out 2014 UK tour, the Sydney boys were delighted to be playing to a small audience in the seaside town of Brighton. Perhaps it was the sense of realness or intimacy that comes with playing in a small room, reminders of the earlier days and a sudden rush comfort - it was all about the music again. A slight fear of imperfect acoustics quickly dissolved after a few beers and

Having seen them twice before I had a half idea of what to expect, they exceeded all anticipation I had. Lead singer Dave Hosking has a voice that keeps you coming back for more, with a well wicked moustache making his face all that more appealing. Guitarist, Killian Gavin, entered the band on the one condition he'd never play a guitar solo, however quite clearly hasn't stood too closely by it as he plays one at most shows.

The happiness was evident on each member as they serenaded the little population of The Green Door Store that night. And thank you, boys, for doing just that.
