Passenger - Busking in Brighton

I remember when I saw Passenger play in Brighton for the first time and it felt like a dream. I was seeing probably my favourite musician play in his hometown, which was now also my hometown. Talk about the best life. It get's better - today I saw him play in his hometown again. This time he was busking like old times.
In all my time of bring in love with Passenger I had never seen him busk. However, today was the day it changed. He announced on Facebook yesterday he would be in town today, so naturally I changed all Saturday plans I had to make sure I'd be there. Front-row-fangirling. And I was.

I awoke early and the sun was shining so delightfully. It was a proper spring day, verging a little on summer. Down at the Brighton music hall, 12:30. It was happening.

I got there at about 12 and there was another lady singing, everyone was happy enjoying lunch and drinks by the seaside. Slowly the crowd built, however not as much as I expected considering it was his hometown. It seems this English chap is more popular in Australia than here. Good for me. Not so much him.

It was a wonderful gig on Mike's behalf, as usual. The sun shone the whole time and the crowd grew as the time went by. Passers by stopped for a listen and people slowly realised who the humble musician was.

Thank you Mike.

  1. Just came across your blog as I saw you've posted a few snaps from Copenhagen. As a Dane I simply had to see what you had to say about our capital city - haha. Sweet that you enjoyed your visit there! :)

If you don't mind me asking. Why did you move to England? To study? Work? See the world? :)

    1. I absolutely loved Copenhagen, it exceeded what little expectations I had! I always wanted to live here and so I finished school, worked for a bit then travelled some of Europe and settled here. It's been so incredible.
