Top 10 must see at The Great Escape 2014

I was so happy to learn that my selected hometown puts on a music festival as wonderful as this every year. Over 400 acts have been announced in the line up, some old, some new and overall fabulous. I can't wait, so I've written a list of my top 10 (and bolded the best of those) absolute must sees - no matter what. And in celebration of the program being released today, I've written times, dates and venues.

+ Hozier - hozier.com
Recently discovered this young man from Ireland and have probably never been more excited to see a gig. Ever.
Thursday 8th / Spiegelpub / 22:15

+ George Ezra - georgeezra.com
Once again, a recent discovery. However, it was the night before his last show here in Brighton, which was unfortunately already sold out, but he's back for more and is having success overnight.
Thursday 8th / The Warren / 21:30

+ Ezra Furman - ezrafurman.com
As the last name of act 2 suggests, this was a find by luck. I love luck. Can't wait to see this man and experience his wonder.
Friday 9th / Brighthelm / 15:30

+ Ginger and The Ghost - gingerandtheghost.com
Thinking I mistakingly put an Angus and Julia Stone in my Great Escape playlist, these guys had my attention from the get go.
Thursday 8th / Komedia / 12:00
Friday 9th / Queens Hotel / 20:30

+ Matthew and The Atlas - matthewandtheatlas.com (Definitely a fave!)
It's been a 4 year-from-the-other-side-of-the-world love, and for a moment I thought that maybe I wouldn't get to see them live. BUT IT'S HAPPENING.
Thursday 8th / Green Door Store / 21:15

+ The People the Poet - thepeoplethepoet.com
Folky slash country-ish sounding, mmm my favourite.
Saturday 10th / Concorde 2 / 19:15

+ Augustines - weareaugustines.com
A familiar name always helps when listening to your first song by said band. They didn't fail to produce the goods.
Thursday 8th / Concorde 2 / 21:30

+ Sam Fender - facebook.com/samfendermusic
After his name popped up as a support for George Ezra, finding out he was here was a blessing. He's got a good voice on him.
Thursday 8th / Spielgelpub / 16:30
Thursday 8th / Green Door Store / 19:00

+ The Districts - facebook.com/thedistrictsband
A friend recommended I listen to these guys because they would be making an appearance and they are for sure one not to miss!
Thursday 8th / The Haunt / 20:30

+ Hudson Taylor - hudsontaylormusic.com
Another bit of Irish for your weekend of fun, these boys are doing well for themselves. And they have nice hair also.
